Ballet Recital Pictures

Back in November Sachan had her ballet recital. I wrote a brief tale then and posted two pictures that I had taken of her at home in her outfits. This evening, we got the professional photos we purchased. The pictures below with a blue background were taken during their dress rehearsal. The ones with darker backgrounds were taken during the performance. I have used the largest format I can for these pictures (yes those of you with dial up are going to have to do a bit of waiting to see all the pictures.) We have also gotten the DVD for the performance but I have yet to work out how to get the two routines posted. Enjoy the pictures!

I love this picture of Sachan and her friend Nozomi-chan.  Sachan and Nozomi went to yochien (Japanese kindergarten) together.  Sachan has been taking ballet longer so they were in different routines.  I wish they had shot them with a different background, but I will eventually get some time to work on this and fix it.

Consider this your  New Year’s Where’s Walker?

We got this last picture because it absolutely cracked us up!  The gentleman in the dark  suit is Kyozo Mitani, for whom Samantha’s ballet school is named.  He is the art director for one of the major ballet troupes in Tokyo and was himself a world class ballet dancer.  While Samantha is not the only forienger in one of his associated ballet schools, she is the only one with blondish hair.  So we were highly amused that she magically ended up standing relatively close to him in the group picture.
