Strapping long thin planks to my feet and then immobilizing my ankles does nothing for my self-confidence or my ability to stay upright for extended periods of time. While Pam is quick to point out that ski slopes are there to go down, I view snow – preferably in flat places and WITHOUT long thin planks strapped to my feet – as something to gently fall down into. So dragging the camera out to the slopes was not an option. I did take this shot in our tatami room before we hit the slopes the first day. We rented Samantha’s ski suit, which turned out to be a great idea as she had to wear both her own ski suit and this one on the second day because it was so cold. They gave each of us a numbered vest, which given my precarious balancing skills made me feel much better…I asked it they had smaller ones so I could put one on each of my legs…you know in case one of them fell off or got misplaced.

Too bad you don’t have a shot of all three of you in the orange jump suits!
Glad to say Pam and I have sleek black ski pants (courtesy of Santa) and coats. Although I would pay money to see Pam in neon orange!
