Farmer Sachan – More Planting Fun
Today we planted cherry tomatoes, parsley and basil. We did it on the balcony. We put paper towels in the bottom of the planters because granddaddy said that if we put paper towels in the planters the dirt won’t fall out.

First we planted the seeds. Next we put dirt over the seeds. We planted all of the tomato seeds because dad said he doubts any will actually come up. Dad got a new planter for the basil and a new one for the parsley. We planted the three or four seeds in middle and on each end of the planter. That was the way dad told us to do it. Granddaddy and I did it.

The last thing we did was to water the seeds. The watering can is new. It is light blue. Then we thought we were done. But it turned out that we were not done.

I went back outside and I took things that looked like green nets with me. I put the green nets over the planters so that the nasty ravens that get into dad’s trash don’t get into the planters.

Then I put them on the wall where dad keeps his other plants. Next I put the other plants on the wall. The reason that they were not on the wall was because dad told me to scrub it earlier this week.

(Editor’s note: This last picture does provide photographic evidence that Sachan can clean. Of course getting her TO CLEAN is an entirely different subject. All photos in this post taken by Sachan and Carolyn.)
