This summer Aunt Becky took Sachan and Emily to the Winchester Little Theatre’s (WLT) production of Alice in Wonderland. Each year the WLT has a production featuring only young actors. The lead in this summer’s play was an eight grader who was joined by a gifted company of local teenage actors.
The WLT is in a small old train depot in Winchester creating an intimate viewing experience. For this adaptation, Alice awakes in her bedroom and acts out the shenanigans as the Queen and King of Hearts hold court on whether or not to kill her from the large picture frames at the end of her bedroom. This is Sachan’s recollection of the play:

nice job Samantha
Please tell Sachan that I am very impressed with her memory and how she could remember so many things that happened in the play. And that I am glad she enjoyed it. Please tell her that her Aunt Cindy thinks plays are like what she reads only the written word is put into action.
Samantha,I enjoyed your description of the play-and isn’t that a neat place where the play was held?Happy that you enjoyed it.
Dear Samantha, again I come to you, begging you to help me teach (for free). May I show this to my third-graders at Burlington Elementary? They would like to see a long essay.
Seeing yours might inspire them to write more. Let me know if this would be okay.
Thanks,
Margaret and pals
Dear Margaret,
Yes, you may show my essay to your third graders. I hope your third graders write good essays.
Thank you,
Samantha
