Tateshina Revisited – Where’s Walker?
You may recall that before leaving Kamamura Shogako, Sachan went on a third grade trip to Tateshina to plant rice. Here are some pictures from that trip, starting with a reader favorite: Where’s Walker?
OK kids: break out those magnifying glasses; start humming that old Sesame Street favorite, “One of these things is NOT like the others;” and, find Walker.

Am I the only one who notices that the photographer really liked the sky? This was apparently taken the day they planted rice.
I am unsure what the fascination is with taking pictures of the girls while they eat. I guess its to show the moms what they had to eat. Not sure what this first meal was, but it sure does look yummy.

Sachan was one of the food preparation group members, thus the snazzy, surgically white get up. This is exciting. Look! Sachan is eating curry. And Sachan hates curry.

Am I the only one that thinks this look like a group of girls ready for a shopping trip to a mall instead of a hike? Can I tell you how happy I was to burn that hideous red sweat suit? Those of you with keen eyes may notice that these pictures look a bit off. Part of that can be blamed on my scanner. But the primary problem is due to a photographer unprepared to photograph a pasty white child. On the other hand, that Fuji film does a great job with those yellow and brown hues.

Yes they have to complete school work while there too…but I question the amount of work going on here:

Here’s what we’re looking for: kids with rice plants and a rice patty! I think this is before they stepped in and found out the patties didn’t have concrete bottoms like their school pool!

Never let is be said that I don’t know what my 14 regular readers want! And yes, I have saved the best for last. Apparently the photographer thought he should take one picture with a proper exposure setting. Who knew Sachan could make dandilions look so good?
