Woke to another cold morning of flurries in Tokyo. The first news article I read this morning was that Etta James had passed away. Once I had my coffee in hand, I headed over for my weekly check in at the best site on the web: Thekidshouldseethis. They already had an Etta James video posted!
Anyone who has ever attempted a blog certainly has to look at thekidshouldseethis and think, “yep, that’s the way to do it!” A parent and their co-curator, a three-year old, post videos that the kid should see. Great mix of music, science, art…the occasional Sesame Street clip, and, on the down-side, a little too much in the way of stop motion animation…although the bookstore stop animation clip this week was worth watching twice. If you are reading this today or this weekend and head over to the site, make sure you click on the Glass Harp search tag under the rainbow glass harp entry…skip the rainbow one and go to the Sugar Plum Fairy performance by another duo…fabulous!
Oh, and definitely take a listen to Etta James. As a speech therapist I would love to have had the opportunity to watch her vocal folds via endoscopy. For any speechies reading this, I use the site all the time for therapy. The science stuff comes in handy with Sachan and my older kids in therapy.
And yes, I have a Twitter account. And yes I didn’t post anything terribly exciting this week…man I hate it when work and responsibilities get in my way. You can see my five most recent tweets to the right in the sidebar. Or you can simply go to Twitter.com and look for me, mrbewsan. You will probably want to check out the recent images section.
Off shortly to pick up Sachan’s new bike; yes I will try to tweet when that happens.
Stay warm!
Bike??? Motorized? Where will Samantha ride it?
