I just read your post about the song lyrics. You got out of her questions pretty good, but how long do you think she'll really believe that all boys are bad except her dad. This gave me a good laugh. Thanks.

The slideshow plugin I am using crops oddly, so you may need to view pictures individually. It also doesn't like to show my captions, so for those of you who don't know, most are taken while at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Can you tell David and Carolyn had a nice time?

Okay so it is possible I am almost as old as you... but I own (and sit and listen to often) several radios, not even counting the car radios. Because radio is such a big part of my life I just don't get how people don't own them anymore, and those who don't know what one is (even little kids) baffle me even more. I get little kids maybe not listening to them... but not knowing what they are?? Eeesh. Not the kid's fault of course but "eeesh" to the world we live in. Interestingly I had an ongoing discourse with my (now former) employees at the wire service about this; the oldest of the bunch is 5 years younger than me and the youngest about 15 years younger. All of them (with one exception) didn't own a single radio aside from the one in their car (if they owned a car, which many of them didn't) and were genuinely baffled when I said they might be interested in a particular program which came on at xyz time. "How would I listen to that?" is what I got from them. The local NPR station does stream its feed online, but even tuning in to the live stream was looked upon as a less-than-desirable action to take. Podcasts were generally acceptable, albeit still weird since it was at one time on the radio.

I'm a big fan of technology in general and am glad that things like 8-tracks are gone, but it just makes me sad that radio is something that is no longer seen as a viable entertainment/informative option for kids.
